May 20th from 10 a.m. till? Gates – Chili Central School along with five other school districts, Spencerport, Churchville-Chili, Wayne, Fairport and Greece, will be competing in a school bus roadeo.
The purpose of a school bus roadeo is to provide drivers of various school districts an opportunity to compete in a contest of driving skills.
The course will consist of obstacles, which will be marked off traffic cones and barrels. The school bus drivers will have to maneuver their school bus without touching the barrels or running over cones, which will add time and deduct points from total score.
About 60ddrivers will be competing in this driving skill which will be held at the Gates student parking lot, adjacent to the bus garage. Spectators are welcome.
On display will be a recent model school bus for spectators to walk through, view interior and see what students are transported in today.
